| John Apple was an old variety from the 16th and
17th centuries. It was said to keep from one apple
season to the next. The existing apple received by
the National Fruit Collection UK in 1921 is probably
not the same as it does not normally keep beyond
November. It is a smooth skinned culinary apple,
with a sharp, soft flesh. |
