History and description of Ballarat Seedling

Originates from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Believed to have been a seedling of Dunn's Seedling. Grown in Australia and New Zealand until 1970's. Large, round fruit. Greenish yellow skin with a pink flush. Fails to ripen well in the UK and is often rather acid in taste. Keeps very well retaining its crispness. Heavy cropper. Spurs freely.
