History and description of Grange's Pearmain

Raised before 1829 by James Grange, market gardener, of Kingsland, Middlesex. Introduced by Dickson’s, Chester. A smooth skinned, flushed, dual purpose apple. Crisp flesh, quite rich, with a hint of pineapple flavour when mellowed. When cooked keeps its shape and is quite sweet. A vigorous tree.
