History and description of Laxton's Advance

Advance apple was raised from Cox's Orange Pippin x Gladstone by Laxton Bros, Bedford, UK in 1908. Large, round-conical fruit. Crimson flush over pale green skin. Juicy, with a sweet lightly aromatic flavour. Moderately vigorous, spreading tree. Prone to canker and mildew. Light cropper.
