History and description of Fertility

Raised by Thomas Rivers, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, UK from an open pollinated Beurre Goubault c 1875. Was grown commercially in the past.

Small, conical to pyriform shaped fruit. Rough, pale green skin ripening to pale yellow. Variable amount of russetting. Greenish white flesh with little flavour. Prone to rot in storage.

Moderate upright tree. Very heavy, reliable cropper. Needs thinning to produce reasonable sized fruit.
