History and description of Primate

Primate plum was raised by Rivers Nurseries at Sawbridgeworth. It first fruited in 1889, was introduced in 1897 and received the Award of Merit from the RHS in 1895. The fruit is larege with a red/purple skin. It has yellow, juicy flesh with a fair flavour and cooks well.
