History and description of Swan

Raised by Thomas Rivers, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, UK 1885.

Medium large, round-oval fruit. Dark red skin usually covered with a heavy purple bloom and tiny primrose dots. Juicy, sweet flesh. Pleasant flavour. Fair as a dessert variety but better suited to culinary use. Upright tree of moderate growth. Fairly good cropper.
