History and description of Chisel Jersey

Chisel Jersey apple arose at Martock in Somerset UK in the 19th Century. It was grown as a commercial cider apple in Somerset up until 1970's but has declined in popularity since. Red flushed, medium sized, conical fruit. Produces a bitter sweet astringent juice and good quality full bittersweet cider.
