History and description of Ydun

Ydun apple was found by the Danish priest and fruit collector Woldike on the island of Tasinge in Denmark in 1850. It is named after an ancient Nordic goddess of eternal youth Ydun (or Idun) who was believed to be the custodian of the golden apples of youth which the gods ate to fend off old age.
