History and description of Primrose Pippin®

I regard this as my best creation so far and named after my eldest child, the apple has the texture of a modern favourite with much more sugar, acidity and perfume. This apple was shown to the full RHS fruit group in 2023 for which it received much praise and interest. This variety will be available to order for the first time on 1st May 2025. The apple which ripens in mid November is a head an shoulders above other available late season fruit in terms of flavour and texture. The apple has a yellow base and develops a red striped flush late in the season. The fruit is a typical eating apple size, roughly round-oblong with a long thin stalk. The apple is very crisp and juicy and has a perfect combination of high sugar content (Brix 18%), balancing acidity and interesting fruity flavours. The apple will be a favourite for anyone who enjoys a modern crisp juicy apple as it has all these essential qualities but also delivers much more flavour. This variety has not yet been trialled outside of Kent, it shows no significant signs of susceptibility to fungal issues.
