History and description of Roter Ananas

Claimed to have been found at Sieglitzerberg, Germany by Richter, Court Gardener at Dessau, Saxony. First described 1854. Bright scarlet flush. Pink stained flesh under the skin. Strong pineapple acidity mellowing to a strawberry flavour in storage.
