History and description of Blue Imperatrice

An old variety the origins of which are somewhat confused as several varietieties of this name have existed since the 18th Century. First received at RHS Wisley, UK in 1905.

Medium small, oval, dark purple fruit with a bloom. Used as a dessert variety.

No reliable information is currently available on either fertility or cropping.
