History and description of Goldfinch

Goldfinch plum was raised by Laxton Bros, Bedford, UK 1906 from a cross between Early Transparent Gage and Jefferson's. Received Award of Merit from the RHS in 1952.

Large, round-oblong yellow fruit. Golden juicy flesh. Semi-clinging stone. Rich sweet flavour.

Compact, upright, round-headed tree. Heavy cropper with fruit ripenining irregularly over a long period.
