History and description of Coeur de Boeuf

Coeur de Boeuf apple is a very old French variety possibly the same as the 13th century variety De Rouviau. Large flat-round apple. Red flush over a green skin. Cooks to a sweet, lemon coloured puree. Keeps well. Vigorous, spreading tree. Attractive blossom.
