History and description of Ruby

Ruby cherry plum originates from Ukraine. It produces the largest fruit of any of the cherry plums. The fruit has red skin but also dark red flesh with a peach like flavour. It can be eaten fresh but like other cherry plums it is more commonly used for cooking. The tree has an upright growth habit and produces attractive white blossom in early spring. It is partially self-fertile.
