History and description of Dittisham Ploughman

A local variety originally grown in Dittisham in the Dart Valley, Devon, UK. It probably arose from a seedling found in the area. The trees were traditionally raised from suckers.

Medium-large sized, oval-oblong, red fruit not unlike a roundish Victoria. Juicy flesh with a fair flavour and free stone. Makes excellent jam.
