History and description of Blue Tit

Raised by Laxton Bros in Bedford, UK from a cross between Czar and Greengage. Introduced in 1938.

Medium sized, round-oblong fruit. Blue-black bloomy skin. Regarded mainly as a culinary variety but its juicy sweet flesh and slightly tart skin make it a good dessert variety.

Produces a compact bushy tree. Self fertile and a reliable good cropper.
