History and description of Herman

Raised from a cross between Czar and Ruth Gerstetter at Balsgard Fruit Breeding Station in Sweden and first reported in 1972.

Medium sized, blue-violet plum similar in appearance to a Czar. Both earlier and better flavoured than Czar. Free stone. An excellent self-fertile dual purpose plum.
