History and description of Golden Transparent Gage
Raised by Thomas Rivers, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, UK from an
open pollinated Transparent Gage and introduced in 1890. Awarded a
First Class Certificate by the RHS in 1893.
Medium large, round squarish fruit. Clear golden yellow skin with a bloom
and often red dots. The firm flesh is very sweet with a delicious rich
gage flavour.
Small tree very suitable for fan training on a wall. Heavy cropper.
